"Give It Again"
RB7-009
with remixes by Inverse Cinematics, Dither Down & Dublicate
"All progressive ragga souljahs step to this – Brooklyn's Redbud takes a gritty tech-dub ting (think Stereotyp or The Bug) from Lithuania's Overtone down to Nostrand Ave. In the process, Germany's DITD (Inverse Cinematics) hijacks the convoy and breaks the beat into a dancefloor killer that should have 'em juxin' n' jamming at London’s Co-Op club."

        -Tomas XLR8R -Issue 87

Redbud's 9th release "Give it again" hails from an up and coming Lithuanian-based producer, Paulius Kilbauskas. Dubbed by some as the "hottest producer on the eastern bloc", Paulius has been producing as Overtone since February 2004. His wide-ranging electronic music style embraces all elements of funky beats: dub, drum'n'bass, hip hop, breaks etc. Already causing a stir amongst European and stateside beatmakers, this electronic dancefloor tune kicks off with moody, dark synths and modulated voices, bursting into heavy, rugged dub steppa beats. The track also features another Lithuanian native -MC Second Man on the mic, delivering his signature ragga style vocals.

The featured remix comes from Danilo Plessow aka DITD, one half of Germany's Inverse Cinematics duo, known for a string of successful releases on Fluid Ounce, Pulver and Faces Records, with their most recent work "Shoot the Pianist' receiving request airplays on Giles Peterson's "Worldwide" radio show. Danilo drops another bass heavy broken floo adding percussive elements to help make you shake it, this remix is also reminiscent of classic broken beat stompers.

Also included is the debut production of Dither Down aka Tim Wagner, halfof Redbud’s own Apeanaut and 1/4 of the electro r&b sound system known as 33Hz (Outlook Music, Plant Records). DD's remix is a slice of Harold Faltmermeyer-inspired retro-futuristic soul that fits the modern dancefloor as well as it would on the soundtrack to Fletch 3. The Dub it again mix closes the 12" introducing a side project of Paulius where he teams up with another native Genys for a minimal dub-house production (think Rhythm & Sound) under the moniker Dublicate.

Advanced copies being played by Gilles Peterson, Bugz In The Attic, Francois K, Jazzanova, Andrew Jervis, Crate Soul Brothers, J-Boogie, Karl Injex, Adam Goldstone and many others.
