Rob Symeonn. The spark igniter and righteous Rastaman, blends poignant lyrics, live instrumentation and comely vocals that are sure to satisfy cold and hungry souls. Symeonn has been recording reggae music for over 20 years, yet it seems that he is only now receiving the attention he justly deserves. His last single on Redbud ,“The Chosen One”, has been making the rotations on the Brooklyn Caribbean radio scene on stations such as such as Waa Gwaan Radio FM 95.9, Wild Radio FM 99.9 , Exclusive Radio FM 97.5, WKCR 89.9. He’s even gotten some spins on Dahved Levy’s Caribbean Fever on WBLS 107.5. It’s been making the way around the globe, popping up on the airwaves in France on the Rise Up Show on 99.3 in Lyon, in Spain on Bass Culture on 91.4 Madrid and in Stockholm, Sweeden on P3 Rytm, Sveriges Radio 105.1. It has also been played on webradio sites such as Cookshop from England, Mana Mana from Hungary and by DJ Quantic on Milk Audio. Produced by Ticklah, “Chosen One” has been featured on high profile compilations on Om and XL recordings.

The follow-up, another Ticklah production, is “Cold Outside” and is sure to spark fires in the streets. The uplifting roots riddim is a conscious meditation on poverty and faith. The reverse side “Rise” is already a dubplate staple on Waa Gwaan. This double a side 45 is the leadoff single off the upcoming Rob Symeonn full length on redbud with tracks produced by Ticklah, Mikey Assassin (Demolition Sound) and Dave “Shingles”.

In an effort to make sure that his name stays on the lips and message stays in the hearts of fans, Symeonn has consistently been delivering solid performances around Brooklyn, New York City, and the East Coast. Over the years he shared bills with Bitty McLean, Kerry Kill, Fantah Mojah, The Meditations, Wailing Soul, Sister Carol and many others.

Ticklah aka Victor Axelrod is best known in reggae circles for his production on Easy Star’s Dub Side Of The Moon, and being the brain-child of the Roots Combination. He is also a member of the Brooklyn based afrobeat ensemble Antibalas. He is also one half of the dub unit Strikkly Vikkly who has released on Stubborn Records in addition to their release. “Isso” on Redbud.

Getting his start as a singer for the One Love International sound system out of Flatbush, Rob Symeonn has steadily built a following among Caribbean reggae fans in New York. His first single, “Anything For Jah”, was released in 1997 and is also the first release from Easy Star Records. His follow up single "Delilah" a combination tune with the legendary deejay Ranking Joe saw its release the following year. He also recorded the song “Keep On Trying” on the Thai Stick riddim for Easy Star before recording his first full length for the Hawaiian based label THC Music. “Abso-Rootly Hot” was released in 2001.
